
One of our Therapists offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Therapy, an evidence-based and NICE-approved treatment for trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and distressing life experiences. EMDR is particularly effective for individuals who find it challenging to process past trauma or manage its impact on relationships, intimacy, or day-to-day functioning.




EMDR is a structured therapy that uses bilateral stimulation — such as guided eye movements or gentle tapping — to help the brain process distressing memories safely while remaining grounded in the present. Unlike traditional trauma-focused therapies, EMDR does not require you to fully relive traumatic events. Instead, it allows emotional and cognitive integration to occur gradually, reducing the intensity of painful memories and enabling adaptive coping.
The therapy works in stages, beginning with assessment and stabilisation, before carefully processing traumatic material under the guidance of a trained EMDR therapist. Not all clients require full EMDR processing; suitability is determined through a thorough assessment and discussion of your goals and readiness.
